Iron Goddess of Mercy | Oolong Tea
This is a handmade traditional style of Ti Kwan Yin oolong tea. It has a little toasty note and a little less overt sweetness. The steeped cup is medium-bodied with layers of sweet floral notes melded with a nutty toastiness.
This tea was made by Mr. Lin Ruifu of Anxi County, Fujian, China. It was grown at 2500' elevation .This tea has a full mouth-feel, while still being a light tea. Iron Goddess of Mercy is synonymous with Ti Kwan Yin. This tea is named for the Chinese Buddhist goddess Kwan Yin, who according to legend made a gift of this tea to a poor farmer in the Anxi region of Fujian, who went to great trouble and hardship to take care of Kwan Yin's temple.
Suggested Steeping Instruction:
Use 1 heaping tsp (3-4 grams) per 8 oz of water. Steep with 8 oz water at 200° for 2-4 min. Good for multiple steepings.
