Hunan Peony | Black Tea
A lighter touch for black tea. Strong, floral sweetness in the nose and a gentle earthiness in the cup with no astringency. Clean, floral finish. Soft spoken, but has good things to say.
Produced in June of 2020 by Mrs. Tian da Ming. This tea is a two leaf and a bud pluck of the Jin Mu Dan (gold peony) cultivar growing at 3,000 feet in western Hunan province. Jin Mu Dan is a recently developed cultivar from Fujian province. Our new non-smoked lapsang souchong from Fujian is from the same cultivar and you will find obvious similarities in their cup character from this fact alone.
