Cowboy Rock Tea | Oolong Tea
Not much for small talk. Earnest peach sweetness, starts out floral, but develops a clove and cinnamon chip on its shoulder. Mysterious. A loner. The real deal.
Made April 25, 2021 in Jian’ou county of Fujian province. It’s a one bud, 3-4 leaf pick from the Qilan cultivar growing at 2,400 feet. Jian’ou county used to be the heart of China tea, especially in the Song dynasty, but still holds much potential. The Qilan cultivar is originally from Anxi, but has migrated to the Wuyi region and is now a common choice for making rock tea. Qilan is known for its aroma, but this lot has an unusually intense mouthfeel and sweetness. Impressive!
