One of our finest Assam teas. The heavy presence of gold buds simultaneously brings nuance and strength to the cup. The classic malt character is intertwined with high aromatics and a leathery liquor that is satisfying from beginning to end.

This is the one of the best lots we’ve ever received of this tea. It’s a FTGFOP1 leaf grade produced in the summer of 2025 by our friends at the Chota Tingrai Estate in the Tinsukia district of Assam, India.

Assam Golden | Black Tea

I received this tea as a gift, and it instantly because my favorite black tea. I've tried several teas made from Assam leaves or contain a blend of Assam and other leaves, and I'm telling you, the flavors in Assam Golden are exquisite. It really brightens your morning if you can spend some time brewing and sipping this one. Once I ran out I came to Teasource's website to reorder, only to find it is not in stock. I will be checking back regularly and will definitely purchase again.

I'm not as proficient as some when describing teas but I would call this tea audaciously fragrant with an interesting and bright flavor. It steeps up beautifully and is an absolute joy to experience. Take your time when drinking it or you'll miss all the subtleties. I splurged on it even though I didn't need another black tea in my cabinet and am so glad I treated myself.
