Painter's Canvas Kamairicha | Green Tea
The sentimental appeal of a bucolic garden watercolor. Light body with a gentle floral aroma, the mouthfeel is clean and frictionless. A perfect reprieve from the noise.
Produced in the late spring of 2024 by Kazuaki Takahashi at the Marutaka Tea Farm in Honyama town of Shizuoka prefecture. It’s made from native Zairai tea plant grown from seed, which is quite rare. Kamairicha is pan-fired (dry heat) green tea, as is typical in China, instead of the steaming that is the standard for all Japanese sencha. The results are less brothy and more floral in quality.
