Kenya Purple Tea | Green Tea
Description: Made by small-scale Kenyan tea farmers, this unique tea is meant to be steeped like a green tea. It has an effervescent mouthfeel and tastes of juniper and fresh greens.
The Tea Research Foundation of Kenya (TRFK) developed the Purple cultivar (Camellia Sinensis var. Assamica) and planted the first seedlings in 2011. It is called Purple Tea because the bushes grow purple leaves. The cup color also has a purple hue.
