Customer photo review of Voyager | Black Tea

I received a sample of this tea from a friend. It was so good! I was not expecting it to taste like chocolate! It was so rich and smooth and had an incredible depth of flavor. I will definitely have to order some of this! I really liked it!

Voyager | Black Tea

One of my favorites. It has a nice sweet, earthiness that reminds me a bit of the flavor of sweet potato skin. Really enjoyable cup.

I'm a black tea lover and this is my all-time favorite, hands down. Chocolatey and smooth. I like it so much I don't even mind finishing my cup when it's cooled down to room temperature.

I purchased a pound of this tea a year or 2 ago and it was amazing. Super malty and tons of chocolate notes and a nice sweetness. This version available 2023. Not nearly as good. Very subtle Malt notes and no chocolate at all. Wish I wouldn’t have purchased another 500gms of this. It’s still a great black tea. Just not as good as the offering in the past.

This has become my new go-to black tea -- similar to Keemun but more affordable. The flavor is rich, earthy, sweet, graham crackers with cacao and a great aroma too -- love it!

I love this tea. It has a wonderful taste profile and is a great deal! If I had too, this could be my only tea, but fortunately, I don't have to!

I have just a little bit of Gu Zhang left in a tin, and I am drinking it sparingly. Prior to it being out of stock, I drank it daily for a good length of time. This is one of my absolute favorites, and I have a very large rotation of tea at home. I recently got into Keemuns and they are delicious. Yet, I find I like Gu Zhang even more, and it is significantly less expensive. The description of the tea is very accurate and I continue to be delighted by this tea. Absolutely love it and will miss it dearly when I run out.

When will this be back in stock?? I dream about having it again. Best tea of my life.

Voyager | Black Tea

It is excellent as Iced. No worries about over brewing it.

Gaiwan brewing brought out the best in this tea. I get chocolate and berry notes. It's like a sweet pastry.

So I don't typically buy the same tea twice as I love trying new and different things. However this tea has won me over and I want to keep it around all the time. It is my go to now. So rich and flavorful.

Voyager | Black Tea

Shhh!!! Don't tell anyone, but some tea-nebriated employee under-priced this by like a Hamilton. Not quite as killer as the significantly higher-priced high grade Keemuns, but just about. And, for once, the Teasource photos don't do this tea justice. VERY beautiful deep deep black small curled leaves which quadruple in size when steeped. Un-steeped tea smells amazing as well. I suggest over-steeping this to 5 minutes if using a 3g/cup ratio and enjoying with something chocolate. Or, I know, sacrilege, steep to 5 and add a bit of turbinado. Very delicious.

The flavor of this tea is unique. I like it, but it's not a flavor I would have associated with tea. (For me, the epitome of pleasant "tea flavor" is something like Teasource's Yunnan FOP.) It tasted familiar, but I couldn't quite figure out why. Molasses? Not quite. A previous reviewer mentioned "chocolate," but I wouldn't quite agree. Then it dawned on me, and it made perfect sense now why it tasted so familiar - it tastes like carob.

This tea is absolutely exquisite! The chocolate over tones are delicious and it is so smooth to the palate. This is a tea you can enjoy to the last drop and drink with your eyes closed, enjoying every nuance of its’ flavor.
