The pleasant texture brings to mind rolling hills of pasture dotted with haystacks. The cup has an agrarian character with a mild mineral quality and a heaping helping of earth. A great daily drinker.
Originally harvested and produced on April 15, 2023 by Ms. Tang Meihong on Jingmai Mountain, Lancang County, Yunnan Province. Post fermentation was completed October 15, 2023. It’s a one bud, two leaf pick of the Yunnan Big Leaf cultivar growing at approximately 5,400 feet.

Steep 3 grams of tea in 10–12 oz of 212°F (100°C) water for 2 minutes.

This tea is very good and quite the surprise! When I opened the bag I was a little worried because there was a slight fishy smell, however, after two steeps the smell was completely gone, and not even after the first wash steep did I notice any weird flavors. Overall, a very good balanced tea with a hay quality that’s is very good and adds to the cup instead of subtracts!
Has a very deep tone to it. It definitely fits the name well. You get many steeps doing Gongfu with this. As you bring it to your mouth you get the scent quickly and it's very earthy, the first initial taste is that earthy kind of pungent flavor, but then you quickly get the scent and very slight taste of the Hay flavor, and as you finish the sip it really just rounds out with a bit of smoothness and subtle sweetness. You never get overwhelmed by any of the flavor characteristics in this tea, and I think that really makes it shine, everything is well balanced and is there just enough.
A lovely roll in a mud pit. Cow is accurate, grass and hay that has past through 8 stomachs. Very thick in the mouth, pairs great with WoodStove Lapsang.
