Ceylon teas have a special place in my heart. As a kid in Iran, I used to start my mornings with a cup of strong Ceylon breakfast tea, honey, and some fresh bread and cheese. Tuk-Tuk is your stereotypical Ceylon black tea, albeit a bit more fragrant and on the sweeter side. This tea would be magnificent in a blend with either Darjeeling or Assam, or even both!

A “pekoe” leaf grade produced July, 2025 by Mr. A. Dissanayagam at the Mattakelle Estate in the Dimbula region of Sri Lanka. It’s a two leaf and a bud pick of the DT1 cultivar growing at 4,500 feet. The pekoe leaf grade in the high-grown areas of Sri Lanka is much smaller than the pekoe grade of southern Sri Lanka.
