Traditional-style of Anxi oolong. The roast brings a nutty, vanilla aroma. The body is soft, yet full with a toasted, creamy, floral character. Steep longer to bring out brisk citrus. A great value and a “must have” tea!
Harvested and produced on May 1, 2025 and roasted on August 3, 2025 by our friend Mr. Lin Rui Fu in Luo Yan Village, Anxi County, Fujian Province. It’s a one bud, three leaf pick of the Tieguanyin cultivar growing at 2,600 feet.
Iron Goddess of Mercy” is the English translation for the “Tieguanyin” – the name of the cultivar that is the standard-bearer for Anxi oolong tea.

3 minutes.
Traditional Steeping Method
Steep 8 grams of tea in a 150 ml Gaiwan with 212°F (100°C) water for the following times.

This is a great value... unfortunately it's my least favorite oolong I've tasted by far. It reminds me of green tea with a bitter aftertaste, lacks any interesting characteristics other oolongs have. For it's price, it can't be beat though.
This is TieKuanKin. As it is supposed to be. Nothing fancy, not the lighter stuff that's more popular today. Medicine. It's got the floral, slight charcoal, and thick almost buttery with durable and strong infusions. Moreover, after reading up on Mr. Lin and drinking this tea I have tears of gratitude. I hope that he knows he is deeply appreciated
I deeply enjoy this tea. I over-steeped it the first time & it was good but not magical. I got it right the second time & I could absolutely bathe in it.
I'm new to this tea thing, what is the different times of steeping for? Is it the number of times you can use the same tea bag? Just longer steep each time?
Really, I bought "Iron Goddess of Mercy" tea for the name alone as soon as I saw it on the shelf. And was pleasantly surprised to find that I really liked it.
If I ever have shredding metalhead friend over for tea, this is what I'll serve.
I've recently been diagnosed with slightly elevated cholesterol. Although it's not terribly worrisome, I am looking for ways to lower it, and one of the things I'm trying to do is swap out coffee for teas. I was originally looking at green tea, since I heard it's good for that cholesterol, but then I heard about Iron Goddess of Mercy so I decided to give it a try. I had no idea what to expect, and honestly I'm pretty picky about my teas. I was so pleasantly surprised and happy when I tried this out today for the first time and absolutely loved it. It's not too strong, not bitter at all, light and refreshing. While all of that sounds like a great warm weather tea, there's also a cozy, warm, citrusy feel to this that comes through, and is perfect for a winter time tea as well. This one is definitely going to go on my "Teas That I Love" list.
Oolong is my favorite type of tea. Iron Goddess of Mercy, a basic Tieguanyin, is an everyday staple in my collection. The light body has enough floral and nuttiness to be satisfying, a real value for the price.
I've tasted the gamut of wulongs/oolongs and this Fujian-sourced Tieguanyin is deeply satisfying and very good value for this price. Highly recommended.
This has become my favorite Tieguanyin, and may be my favorite tea right now. I prefer this style to the lighter, greener versions of Tieguanyin.
Lots of body and rich flavors in the cup.

A friend from afar sent this to me as a gift. I hadn't really found an oolong that I loved, and so was shocked when I tried this one. It is a perfect flavor! Mellow and robust, slightly nutty and oh so delicious. I just came to order more as the pound I ordered last time is almost gone. Absolutely love this tea!
