88th Night Shincha | Green Tea
This tea has an intensely fresh, grassy, asparagus aroma. The steeped cup brings to mind sweet seaweed & cooked vegetables. It also has a distinct floral quality like honeysuckle or lilac.
This tea is made from the Okumidori cultivar. It is from north of Kagoshima City in the Kirishima area near Kirishima National Park, which is an active volcanic area known for natural hot springs. It is harvested on the 88th Night after Risshun (the first day of Spring in the Lunar calendar), which usually coincides with the last day of the Lunar New Year celebration.
