After a short absence this tea came back and I’m so happy to have some again. I had the most amazing experience with this tea by accidentally forgetting about it after the steep timer went off. It had to have been 10-12 min as the water was cooling but Wow! So floral and sweet! Again Lilac, honeysuckle and even a bit of rose.

Green Garden Tieguanyin | Oolong Tea

I love how this tea lives up to its name. It tastes like a green garden surrounded by lilacs. this one really releases its magic after a long steep. Western style at 195 and I don’t start sipping till 7 min. I leave the tea leaf in…it gets even better..asparagus cucumber lilac, other flowers as it cools…zero astringency 10 plus min

I bought a variety of green oolongs from TeaSource to try as I'm a new customer. This one blew my socks off. I wanted to find a "buttery" Tieguanyin as I haven't tried one yet. It's very floral and buttery at the same time. Their other green oolongs were good, but in my opinion, this is the best Tieguanyin (the best green oolong for that matter) for the price point they sell at TeaSource right now. I went back and I got the last 4 oz. bag they had for sale. I'm glad I got some before it was gone.

This is an excellent tea for a low price. It is quite sweet and floral so I guess in a sense it lacks the complexity of some oolongs, but if sweet/floral are your favorite qualities in an oolong then you will enjoy this. I love this tea and drink it almost daily. It also makes an excellent iced tea. I cold-brew it by steeping 20 grams of leaf in 2 liters of cold water for 12-16 hours. Very refreshing during in the hot climate where I live. If you like this tea I also recommend the high-mountain oolong. It is fabulous and reminds me of this tea but with a little more flavor and slight toastiness. It is expensive so I drink it once a week or so.

Of all the oolong teas that I've been working through from the Tea Source, this one is a personal favorite. The nose is fresh and lightly floral. The body is rich and velvety, with and slight sweetness and just enough astringency to refresh the palate.
