The hearty earthiness of ripe puer plays sweet chocolate like a fiddle. So smooth you can’t over-steep it.
All ripe puer comes from the Xishuangbanna region of southern Yunnan Province, China. It starts out as raw puer, but then goes through a final step of “pile fermentation” where they pile it up, apply moisture, and cover it for a period of time to achieve microbiological change. The result is intensely earthy, smooth, and cannot be over-steeped.

Oh my giddy aunt! Had my first cup of this tea today and it's heaven in a cup! I've been looking for something like this ever since the White Chocolate Chai that I used to get at another dealer was discontinued. Put a little honey and cream in this and it's to die for. LOVING THIS and will definitely order it a LOT>
I have been drinking this tea for many many years. It truly tastes like a light warm chocolate. So satisfying and delicious. And I recently learned that Puer is a fermented tea! which I thought was super cool and adds to the health benefits. Will remain in my top 10 forever!

A strong, earthy puer with a white chocolate flavor. Not my favorite puer ever, but a nice one to drink every now and again. Would make a nice base tea to use with those flavored beverage syrups; raspberry or caramel might blend well.
I purchased this in hopes that it was like another chocolate puer I'd had in the past from a company that has since closed its doors. It's delicious, and while I can't say it's 100% the same, it's close enough that I'm very happy to have found it! I don't usually go for teas with added flavoring, but the chocolate combined with the deepness of the puer is so, so good.
I first bought a little bag of this in a mountain store after the sales lady let me take a whiff. It smelled so decadent and chocolatey. I have drank it alone and with a little cream and it is delicious both ways. It is my favorite tea, it has a lot of flavor if you steep for 3-5 minutes, which is my preference. Great if you want a sweeter cup of tea as it has a natural sweetness to it.
I received this as a sample with a recent purchase. It didn’t sound good to me, so I was reluctant to try it. I finally did, and was happy to find I liked it very much. As others have said, it is rich and smooth. The flavors blend well together. If you’re curious, try it! Like all puers, I got several pots out of one measure of tea. I also liked it iced..
Just a note about the brewing process: steeping the first pot for 30 seconds, and increasing the steeping time with subsequent pots, is the way puer is brewed. Normally there are subtle changes in taste between batches. However, since this is a blend, I don’t notice much change from batch to batch. I still brew it as I would a standard puer, but you could skip that process without much change in taste.
Honestly 30 seconds to 30 minutes? This Teaholic isn't sure of what to make of that. Based on my own steeping I would say 3-5 minutes is around the time you want. That is purely my preference though; everyone will be different. While I was a bit worried this would have actual white chocolate in it I am please that there is not! The flavor is amazing. Vanilla, subtle notes of white chocolate that are incredibly smooth. There is some astringency in the aftertaste but it's not harsh like some straight black teas. I highly recommend this to any chocolate fans!
This tea is just right! I'm not one for chocolate and tea, but this is so gentle and well balanced that it is one of my go-to afternoon or evening teas.
