Just got this today as part of my first order with TeaSource. Good prices, fast shipping, good selection! This was the first tea I tried from my order because of the description "a hint of smoke." I can kind of see that. It's faint, but almost like a hint of ash. I love very dark puerhs like the mini bricks that Tulin used to make. I wish I had the vocabulary to describe this tea because it is different from all the other dozen ripe puerhs I have. It has a hint of bitterness which I like--it still tastes like tea even though it's "cooked." Long aftertaste. I brewed my first pot a little strong--4 grams at about a minute in a little one cup pot. I'll keep trying and drinking this and I may return to this review to update. Right now, I'm really happy with this tea, especially for the crazy low price.

The Big Dipper | Ripe (Shu) Puer Tea Cake

Relaxing and cozy, when steeped the traditional style. I first tried to steep it for full 4 minutes, and the result was a bit "heady" and lacking in flavor nuances. Doing 20 second steeps (according to the instructions) brings out all the beautiful transitions, including over-ripe floral in the third steep, and maybe dried apricot? Quite enjoyable.
