I’ve made my own spice blends, but I like this one best. Their recipe of a tablespoon of spice mix to one can of sweetened condensed milk and then a tablespoon of the goop is way too sweet for me. I use 2 tablespoons of spice mix with one can of sweetened condensed milk. Then per cup I only use a teaspoon and a half of the goop rather than a full tablespoon, and then I add a little milk. I use a basket style tea strainer when I steep the tea, so when I add the chai condensed milk goop, I stir it through the strainer to catch the ground spice bits, as I don’t like them in the cup. This method gets rid of a lot of the graininess.

I mix a heaping tbsp of the powder mix to a can of sweetened condenced milk and add it to 14oz of Fisherman's Blend black tea. Great way to start the morning or to get ready for bed.

This mix is delicious. I make chai a lot. I think this is a great mix of spices. I add star anise to mine but did not find this lacking. There was a complaint about what is left in the mug. When I make chai, I make a lot because it takes a while to get all the flavors in. I make it in a sauce pan with everything in the pan. I strain the tea and spices all at once. This could help those that do not like the spices left in the mug. This is the best chai I've had that did not come from adding the whole spices. It might even be better than my recipe. Loved it!!!

I LOVE this Chai spice. I originally purchased the Chai Spices and the Breakfast Assam when they used to come together as a kit back in 2018. I wish this was still available as a kit because would love to give as gifts! I've been buying it regularly ever since. But, it's a wonderful warming tea with plenty of spice and none of the overwhelming sweetness that you get from some commercial chai tea mixes. I can put as much or as little of the mix in my tea as I prefer. Excellent blend.

I actually don’t use the recipe they give because the spices sink to the bottom and make an unpleasant sludge. I actually put about 1/8-1/4 tsp in a teasac and brew it with the tea and then add cream and sometimes a bit of sugar after it has finished brewing. It tastes just as good without the sludge at the bottom.

This all comes down to how you prefer your Chai. I prefer mine sweet and was surprised how much bite this blend has. I haven't either noticed pepper as an ingredient in Chai before or it was absent. I do not care for it at all. Another thing I didn't like was that the blend doesn't dissolve into the drink very well, so I don't get to enjoy the whole drink because the last third is thick sludge. The instructions suggest using 1 tablespoon, but this was way too much, so I tried a teaspoon and still ended up with too much of the drink going to waste because it was undrinkable. I will not be buying this blend again.

This is the best Chai I have tasted! I have been searching for a while. This will now be a staple in my cabinet and fridge.

I made my own variation of the premix using honey :) 12 fl. oz. can of Evaporated Milk 160 g Honey 2.5 tbs (25 g) Chai Mix I put it in a jar so I can shake it to re-suspend the spice, and then pour it out at about 1 part premix to 5 parts black tea (decaf for night time drinking) right into my cup. Yum!

Love this stuff. There's now a steady supply of goop in the fridge. To some of the other reviews....it's not supposed to completely dissolve. It's like adding cinnamon to eggnog.

Could you please post the coconut milk alternative recipe that you print off cards for. I lost my card and would love to make some and forgot the recipe.

This spice blend is delicious. I have mixed it up with both sweetened condensed milk and with evaporated milk for a less sweet chai. Both are delicious, but the beverage made with evaporated milk is a little thinner than that made with sweetened condensed milk.

Because I liked the Chai teas I ordered at coffee chains, I decided to try this one when an employee recommended it to me at the TeaSource St. Paul location. I was blown away! She described to me how to make the goop and since then there has been a steady supply of goop in my fridge. This is now the only Chai I drink and it's been 3+ years. It has become my afternoon ritual to make this Chai tea and I give it my highest recommendation!

I really enjoyed this mix. I made my own sweetened condensed milk and it turned out quite well. I didn't add more spice than the 1 tbsp to the cup of sweetened condensed milk, but I did add the milk/spice mix to my tea to desired taste. I used the recommended Breakfast Assam tea. The only thing I MIGHT add to the spice mix would be licorice spice. Regardless, I would wholeheartedly recommend this mix.

The instructions suggest 1 T. of this mix to one full can of condensed milk. I actually add more - probably 2 1/2 T. as I like the spice. I haven't tried the mix without the condensed milk yet, but I'm interested to see if it works on it's own - allowing me to adjust the milk and sweetness each cup. I've made this with the suggested Breakfast Assam tea, and it is great.
