Strong and resolute against the cold dampness of morning waters. A full-bodied cup of dark, smoky, tobacco-like flavors, but with a subtle sophistication that often goes unrecognized. You can relate.
Fishermen’s Blend is a breakfast tea with the body and presence to wake you up on those early mornings when caffeine alone is not enough. This black tea delivers bold briskness and subtle smokiness that can cut through the cold and alert the senses. You need something that will radiate from the inside to stimulate your energy and focus.

This tea is as subtle as a punch in the face. I found the smoky flavor to be overpowering and off-putting.

A phenomenal black tea to add to the rotation. I’ve been cold steeping every now and then too, and it’s a beautiful amber color, not bitter, and just so delightful.

This one I keep coming back to and one of my Teasource favorites. My wife doesn't dig how strong it is, but as a coffee drinker (which my wife is not), I find it the perfect transition in the afternoon after my morning coffee.

This tea absolutely rules. It smells like my uncle steve's smoked beef jerky and tastes like warmth and chocolate and very good black tea. Hubba hubba.

Second time ordering this tea, last time I ordered I made the mistake of only getting the 2oz bag. Can't get enough of it. Smells and tastes like cozy cabin living, woodsmoke soaked into every soft surface

I really enjoy Fishermen’s Blend. It’s like a milder version of Lapsang Souchong (which is a part of this blend). It pairs well with milk and I often use it with the TeaSource chai flavoring to make a delicious smoky chai tea.

Possibly my new favorite tea

This tea taste like a fall morning out on the lake. It has a Smokey taste and warms you to the bone. While also taking you on a journey of the senses.

TeaSource describes this as "[s]trong and resolute against the cold dampness of morning waters," which I think is about right. Although this tea won't knock your head off the way a good lapsang souchong does, its subtle smokiness is still enough to put hair on your toes (as my mother used to say). Get past the smokiness and you'll find that the liquor has all of the wonderful qualities that you'd expect from the teas that go into making it.

To me, it tastes like a less smoky version of lapsang souchong. It's smooth and not overpowering. I enjoy staying my day with it.

A great tea on its own or mixed with the Tea Source chai spices to make a chai tea.

You can tell TeaSource put a lot of thought into this one, and it does not disappoint. It's an intriguing blend at a surprisingly great price. Just the right amount of smoke gives the rest a chance to shine through. Very impressive!

This is a nice robust morning tea with a touch of smokiness from the Lapsang Souchong blended into it. It's strong but nicely balanced and not overpowering.

I enjoy several of the black teas offered by TeaSource, but Fishermen's Blend is the one I count on to start the day. The brawny richness of its combined flavors summons to mind an image of early morning fishing camp, when everything one does is with the purpose of getting on the water, forget the chill and damp. I hope never to be without it.

My wife loves Lapsang Souchong but I find that one too potent. I prefer the Fiserhmen's Blend. I think it's one of the better TeaSource teas. In a perfect world they would alter the blend to have a bit more malt, but it's still great.

I feel like this is a love or hate kind of tea. It has a very unique smokiness. I personally found it off-putting, but if that's what you're looking for, it may be ideal

I really like this blend. It has a pinch of several flavor profiles I enjoy and they are well balanced. They all play well together.

Fisherman's Blend is a brisk, bold, and light-bodied tea with a smoky, piney flavor reminiscent of a campfire in the woods. Not as strong or smoky as the smoked Lapsang Souchong, it is very soothing on a chilly, rainy day. A bit of milk mellows this blend nicely.

I love this tea and have ordered it multiple times! If you like smoky teas, I highly recommend it. It tastes exactly as described. I brew it western style.

Open the bag and take a heady whiff of the leaves. You'll wonder if it's tea in there or maybe someone swapped it with some pipe tobacco and coals from the fireplace. I suppose if you really were on a trawler in the North Atlantic, early April, you might find this bitter, smoky tea comforting in a sort of way. It's a hot beverage, after all. But then, you are already immersed in a deep, wet cold and the smell of fish guts and cigarette butts. In my kitchen, though, it's just too strong; too harsh, too smoky. I give it three stars (instead of fewer) b/c I found it palatable if you add like a quarter cup of sugar. Meaning, the bitter edge was muted sufficiently. But it still has the smoky, burnt flavor. Adding a flavored syrup such as vanilla might help, but I haven't tried that yet. And, note, I drink my coffee black.

When I am in the mood for smokiness, this is perfect. It is a good, solid blend and it also mixes quite well with flavored teas. I have always liked Lapsang Souchong and it compliments the other teas quite well. I recently began putting cream in tea more often (I was always a fan of plain), and this takes cream quite well. It is also very good plain.

It's a real kick in the pants, not for the faint of heart. Good for alertness, just lacking in complexity. Could use a little something to complement it... Maybe some bergamot or a floral/citrus-y note to complete the experience. Feels a little unfinished... having said that, a fisherman's work is never done...

This is an essential component of my black tea blend. I take Fisherman's Blend in a 1:2 ratio with another black tea, such as Irish Breakfast. I mix them in a tin and then use that as my tea blend. In winter I mix it in a 1:1 ratio! The smoky astringency is the absolute perfect pick-me-up on a dark morning. I truly hope you keep stocking this one!

I figured I'd try this tea out on a whim and was kind of blindsided by its intensity. It is smoky. Like, really smoky. If you're used to grocery store black tea like Lipton or PG Tips like I am, this one is easily 3 times the flavor and so so different. It's like going from drinking some mild-mannered bourbon and then switching it up with a peaty, smoky scotch that tastes like a locomotive but somehow is smooth and enjoyable while you're being punched in the face with flavor. It's paradoxical. And then you keep drinking it and it grows on you. After my first cup, I would have rated this 2 stars for WTF is this. After my 20th cup, 5 stars. I don't know a thing about tasting tea, but I liked this one.

Lapsang Souchong has always been a bit overpowering for me so I would never have ordered this tea until I got a sample of it enclosed with an order. It's a nice heavy flavor with just enough of the pine smoke to give it some character. If you usually drink coffee in the mornings give this one a try instead...

I love this tea first thing in the morning! The complex, rich flavor makes a great start to the day. Smokey but not overbearing. It's good black but I like it with milk best.

Wonderful "breakfast style," wake-up tea. Has a smoky scent and a well-rounded black tea taste. It will get you up and going without any harsh notes.

Hooowee, this tea will wake up your olfactory nerves. I like liquid smoke in small doses, but this tea is like being in the smoke house when the tea is oxidizing. Fisherman's Blend is not for the faint of heart. The first 2 cups I tasted a hint of melaluca oil. Do not ask me how, LOL. If you like strong black coffee (I do not like coffee), you would like this tea.

Living in the Pacific Northwest this tea does what the label says "Strong and resolute against the cold dampness of morning waters." Strong and earthy but not over powering. A good tea to add into the rotation.

A hearty, robust black tea with smokey undertones for mornings when you want to linger over a pot of tea.

It's a good quality tea but I didn't realize it was so smoky I gave it to a friend who loves it so all was not lost.

I wasn't sure if I would like the smokey & was pleasantly surprised. The scent is way stronger than the smokey taste. I really like it in the morning at full strength especially on a cold winter morning. Always have it available now.

This blend has the feel of a breakfast over a campfire; smoky and warm, with a scent suggestive of a morning outdoors even if it's a cozy afternoon in. I was looking to put something new into the rotation along with the Earl Grey White Tip, and this fits the bill beautifully.

Great for a brisk morning. Pairs well with a waffle knit sweater.

I enjoy lapsang souchong occasionally and generally enjoy strong black teas, so I gave this a try. Unfortunately, I found it had an aftertaste I can only describe as fishy. I like the flavor of fish, too, but not in my tea. I had about a dozen cups and finally gave up trying to make myself like it.

A great cold day tea! Lifts the spirit as it warms the body. Enjoyable aroma is like sitting around a morning campfire.

As the other reviewers say, this one is smokey and has oomph. I enjoy it as a breakfast tea (with milk) on occasion, but would find it overwhelming on a daily basis. My spouse loves the smokiness and would happily drink it daily.

This tea has a strong smoky flavor, which I love, but may not be for everyone. This is one of my favorites!

Although a little too smoky for me on its own, it’s a great addition to other black teas. Flavorful, no sharp edges and will transport you to a campfire in the woods.
