This is a fukamushi sencha: an excellent quality tea for those who really crave a brothy, full-bodied texture. It is very thick and opaque. Not astringent at all, and has a nice, balanced, clean vegetal flavor (not smokey at all). I'd been drinking Chinese pan-fired green tea for years, but when I discovered these Japanese senchas, I was instantly converted!!

I'm not a big fan of sencha tea in general due to how grassy and "meaty"/unami-ness of them as it contribute so much to the savory notes. I prefer my tea sort of delicate and very light so white teas in general. However, relative to my experiences with regular sencha tea it has all their typical profiles which are greatly amped by the "brothy" vegetation hints throughout. It instantly hits you and gives you a very rich mouthful aftertaste. If you tried a standard Hong Kong milk tea or drinks with evaporated milk it has a similar appeal. I cold brewed a sample pack given to me by Teasource (6g) into a 2L jar and yeah it's intense. I only rated it 4 stars because the brothy mouthful experience is not something I look forward to in tea but I can understand its appeal for others to experience. The entire tea description is actually on point
