Scented dark tea with an exceptionally smooth cup. The rose character is subtle and confectionary – sweet instead of perfume. Each heart is 3-4 grams of compressed tea on average.
This lot of Dark Rose was produced in the summer of 2025 by Mr. Duan Jianqun in Anhua County, Hunan Province. The base tea was made from the Yuntai Daye cultivar, a large leaf varietal from Yuntai mountain in Anhua - an unusual choice and a major reason for the satin character of this tea.

Perfect in every way. Honestly have not had a tea like this in my life. It doesn't taste like perfume, but it makes me feel like I'm rolling in warm roses. 11/10, cannot recommend enough. The fact they're heart shaped is simply an added bonus.
Ky absolute favorite tea. Nice floral roses in cyte heart shapes, tastes like drinking a nice springtime garden, and I like that the dark tea is heavy so it sinks to the bottom so I don’t need a strainer
After 30 years of enjoying TeaSource teas, this is my current favorite and has been for over two years! The fragrance brightens my mornings but there is no perfumed flavor. It is very smooth, almost velvety. It reminds me of Emperor’s Blend - but since that hasn’t been available for over a decade my memory may be a little hazy!
This is a long-time favorite of mine! In recent years’ batches, I’ve noticed that the hearts often don’t fully dissolve. A simple fix for this is to snip them in half with some sturdy kitchen shears before steeping. This is a delightful tea, I highly recommend it!
I love rose teas so I was a bit worried by the label of subtle but it's strong enough for me! It reminds me of a tea I was gifted a long time ago but wasn't able to find again.
The heart shape and the description sold me to purchase this for our annual Ladies Tea. The balance of the ingredients is perfect in its flavor, scent, taste, and smoothness. A big plus is, it does not leave a strange after flavor lingering on the sides or back of the tongue, nor a gritty residue like some beverages do. Some floral-like or infused teas or beverages taste like your mouth was sprayed with a floral air freshener. This absolutely does not do that. This is a very pleasant and light tea.
Possibly our favorite tea from any source. We love puerh and picked this up largely do to the good reviews and attractive hearts. It quickly became our favorite. Besides the aesthetic benefit, I do enjoy the convenience of the pre-measured as well. The flavor is perfectly balanced and I genuinely hope it remains available indefinitely.
Bought this on a whim and without expectations. When I opened the bag, the scent of the tea was amazing! It brews a smooth, incredibly flavorful cup and is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites! A cup of this tea makes my morning feel positively luxurious.
So incredible. I had actually tried to come up with a rose puerh tea on my own. I tried a few things-- a flavored black tea added to a puerh, a puerh with only rose buds and petals (better). This is DELICIOUS though. I could drink it every day even though I like a wide variety of teas (both straight and flavored and all kinds of processing & caffeine levels). I'll be buying more of these little hearts as soon as I can afford my next order. :)
Haven't drunk this batch yet, but it's one of my favorite dark teas, and the bouquet coming from the bag putting it in my storage reminded me of cereal. Like the bowl of cereal you sit with on Saturday morning and watch cartoons! So promising things ahead.

I don’t usually care for “flavored” teas, but these little hearts have only a mild rose scent, with a robust dark tea flavor. At this time of year, they are my go-to shortcut for cold tea. Pour about 1.5 liters of water, just off the boil, over one heart. Steep until cooled, strain out the leaves, then refrigerate. Best without added ice. Hearty, but not astringent. No sweetener needed.
An earthy and strong dark tea base with a rose overtone. Steeps multiple cups very well. I have to be in the mood for this tea, but it is quite unique and tasty. This is my first time trying a dark tea. If a puer can be compared to a smooth woodsy, warm, earthy flavor, then a dark tea would be moss-covered stone type of cool, earthy flavor.
idk how many times i have to tell people that you will never regret buying this tea. These magnificent pressed little babayyss warm my heart every time i use them (which is daily) i love them so much my co workers have become annoyed and know my daily tea by heart. I have just started getting into teas as of 2 months ago this is the first big package of tea i have ever bought in my tea career and im still amazed at how i haven't known about this beautiful mix sooner in my life. the texture is smooth the taste is consistent and soft theres not much of an earthly flavor but just enough to let u know how natural this tea is. 10/10 would recommend and i will be buying this again as soon as i run out of the 16oz bag i purchased. I love all of you and appreciate ur existence as a company and as individuals god bless and just know that all of you are loved. Have a wonderful day fools :)
Nothing better in this unique but amazing category. Don't expect to be hit in the face with a bouquet like you are with English Rose. This is a spectacular dark tea on a spa vacation. In other words, it is more dark tea than rose tea, but even if you're not looking for that, you'll still probably enjoy this tea. Better than my endorsement, my local tea company wholesales this from Teasource. I would recommend this as an introduction to dark or even puer teas. I found that I was able to pick out more of the subtle, but spectacular, flavors in Tian Jian after trying Dark Rose for the first time.
I was surprised at how much I liked this tea! I bought it for the cuteness factor, thinking that a friend of mine would get a kick out of the heart shaped of tea. Even after I took a whiff of the rose scented tea I wasn't all that interested. I figured I had to at least try it, and so I made a large mug (each heart is 5 grams and steeps about 13 oz. water). Oh my, it is LOVELY. Even my daughter enjoyed the subtle rose flavor, and she isn't much of a tea drinker.
Flavor holds up enough for a second steeping, too. I am definitely ordering more. <3
If you are looking for a subtly flavored tea, you have found it. Congrats. So inspiring is this concoction that I've tried other rose teas, hoping for even more joy in the vein of this variety. Without exception, they are garish versions of this delicate flower. If this offering is an actual rose, the others I have tried are artificially-scented plastic toys. Anyway, I recommend getting a small amount to try. Soon you will, like me, be buying it by the pound.
So happy to see this available again. I don't usually care for flavored teas, or floral teas, but this is one of my favorites nonetheless. The rose taste is very subtle.
One tiny heart, with one and a half liters of boiling water poured over and steeped for several hours, makes a pitcher of tea that lasts well for days in the refrigerator and tastes great hot or cold, with robust flavor but no bitterness. I find myself making it again and again all year long.
This tea is balanced and the rose flavor is not overwhelming. I normally don’t care for rose scent or flavor but the dark tea and the rose together is sublime. I tried it with a high quality 80% dark chocolate and the flavors blended beautifully. It was difficult to tell where the tea left off and the chocolate began!
How can there be no reviews for this yet?! This is a wonderful tea. It is round and comforting. Both the dark tea funk and rose floral are mild and perfectly incorporated. You are not getting hammered with dirt and fermentation nor getting smacked in the face with a bouquet. It is convenient for a single cup. It is cute as heck and a great gift. You could give this to anyone who has even the slightest interest in drinking tea or upping their tea game (and I have.)
