The inherent citrus character is a nice surprise for a green tea. The lush and expansive cup provides satisfying weight and resistance to astringency. Steep in a standard Western manner for a smooth, daily drinker – or a little stronger for a more exciting adventure.

This OP leaf grade was produced March 2025 by Mr. Asanga Maveekumbura at the Lumbini Tea Valley Estate in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It’s a one bud, two leaf pick of the TRI2026 cultivar growing at 1,400 feet.

this has yancha/rock oolong flavor but its very unique compared to other rock teas its like green tea and rock tea that has some raw pureh and black tea after tastes that is very delicious

Ceylon Rainforest | Green Tea

Unpleasantly bitter if brewed too hot, but very rewarding when brewed right. Prominent citrus notes. The flavor and pleasantly thick texture almost remind me of a sweeter citrus verison of a mango. Some nice umami too. Really fills your mouth with flavor and leaves a lingering mouthwatering aftertaste.

Ceylon Rainforest | Green Tea

This definitely has a citrusy flavor, and to be honest it really tastes and feels more like an oolong than a green tea. Of all the green teas I have, this is a true misfit! Not in a bad way. For me, it tastes best room temperature or cold. I drink this when I'm in the mood for a bright oolong, not a green tea.

Ceylon Rainforest | Green Tea

I love this tea brewed Gongfu style. Brewed traditionally, I personally found that I couldn't extract a lot of flavor without also extracting astringency. But done in a gaiwan, it's delightful. It offers a rich mouthfeel with a gentle green/vegetal character that yields to lemongrass over subsequent steepings.
