A neutral, pleasant grassy character. What the store description notes as citrus usually lands on my palate with a sort of chive-like bite in the finish that I don't particularly care for. My tastes tend toward Chinese greens, for what it's worth. At this price point I like Sycamore Grove and Four Seasons.

Archer's Arrow Iccha Kariban | Green Tea

Iccha can be a bit sharp or astringent in the first brewing, particularly if brewed at 175F instead of 160. It is very fresh tasting, with what I think of as that Japanese grassy-ness The second brewing is very smooth and even more green, my favorite cup. It makes a good third and, if brewed right away, a good fourth (letting it sit in the infuser leads to a fermented taste).

This newly-developed tea is a new favorite of ours. My preferred method of brewing it is in a kyusu for three infusions at 170° with .6 grams of tea per 1 ounce of water and brewing times of 1'30"/1'/1'30". I won't list any taste descriptions because those tend to be very personal—my wife and I always have different descriptions for teas we dislike and ones, like this one, that we like very much. I will say that this tea has something we prefer in green teas: a lingering and pleasant aftertaste. Iccha Kariban is also very reasonably priced for a tea of this quality.

This has been my daily tea for about a year. As a sencha lover, this tea delivers a relatively delicate vegetal flavor profile I love at a very reasonable price. Also a forgiving tea in my experience - still delicious if over-steeped, steeped a bit hot, or not measured accurately. Good for a second steeping. Also very good iced. Highly recommend to any fan of Japanese greens - a wonderful value for a delicious tea

While ordering another batch of this tea I realized that this is my new favorite. With its very light floral and fresh vegetal notes I kept reaching for this green tea as my daily drinker. Highly recommend for yourself and your guests!

This tea is good. But it's definitely not the classic Shizuoka sencha that I'm accustomed to. It kind of reminds me of a Chinese green tea. I thought perhaps this was a deep-steamed green tea, so I was expecting more depth and a grassy flavor. But, as the description accurately relays, this tea is floral and not heavy. To be honest, this tastes a bit like a "budget sencha." But, the price is very reasonable! I would still recommend this to people who like Japanese green tea.
