Customer photo review of Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Like many others, I was looking for Evening in Missoula and realized Northern Lights was the replacement. It’s not as good as I remember EIM being, but it’s still a wonderfully relaxing & flavorful nighttime tea. Worth the purchase.

Does this tea taste like root beer to anyone else? Maybe it’s the cherry bark? Idk, not my favorite. I’m glad I only got an oz from my supplier, and will keep looking for a good night time tea blend.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I have this tea every night when I read before bed. It’s my favorite for winding down at night and is just so soothing after a long day. Perfect to pair with a fantasy book as well. 10/10

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Our local coffee shop stocks this tea as one of their two caffeine free blends. I love this tea so much. Happy to find it here online so I can enjoy it anytime I like.

I've been a teasource fan for a decade, and this is a recent favorite!! Absolutely adore it. Perfect for cold nights and chilled mornings by the lake. I usually am super averse to stevia, can taste it in anything and despise it, BUT for whatever reason this is *perfect!* It adds just a touch of sweetness that complements the vanilla. HUGE recommend!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Would you consider making a version of this without stevia? I love the taste but not the sweetness. I read enough other reviews that seem to echo that that I thought I’d ask.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I fell in love with your description of Northern Lights. The tea itself lived up to that. I crave it! So it gets my vote.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

By far, my absolute FAVORITE tea! The spearmint and vanilla complement each other so wonderfully! A rich flavor and comforting sip with every cup. Well done! This is my go-to tea for gifting to friends and they always ask me where to go to purchase a bag.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

This is an excellent blend with chamomile, spearmint and several others. Very light with a hint of vanilla and a touch of sweetness. Absoutely great tea to sip after having a stressful day. So relaxing

Honestly, I partly ordered this tea due to the name and I was nervous about it because of the added stevia (I am not really into sweeteners in my tea). However, this tea far exceeded my expectations and is absolutely delicious! I simply must keep some around at all times. The spearmint is the perfect complement to the rest of the blend and doesn't dominate it at all. I already love chamomile for its taste and effect, and it is a welcome aspect of the composition. As I mentioned, I am not usually into sweeteners in my tea (although I do like the taste of honey by itself) but I was sick a little while ago and so I tried Northern Lights with honey to soothe my throat. It was very good. I prefer it plain, but it was quite pleasant with honey. I am a black tea fanatic and Northern Lights is great because it helps me to cut back on drinking so much delicious black tea! It's wonderful any time of the day.

We drink this every evening and it’s amazing. We used Evening in Missoula for along time and at the beginning when that wasn’t available anymore here it was an adjustment, but hey the only constant in line universe is change! Steep a bit extra and toss in the refrigerator, it’s amazing cold as well! 10/10 would recommend, we took four ounces with us for a family weekend and grandma loved it!

This tea is offered in a small shop where I live. My 8 year old cannot get enough of the Northern Lights. Lovely option for caffeine free. We both enjoy the aroma and taste. It seems it’s not for everyone. We enjoy the balance and adding a bit of raw honey.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I found it not well balanced in flavor. I don't know my spices so I can't say what drives the flavor but not really smooth. Will continue my search for better flavor.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I have had Evening in Missoula (EIM) and Northern Lights (NL) both in my evening tea rotation for months and have been thinking the whole time that they were virtually indistinguishable in flavor. But now that EIM is out of stock, there are suddenly several reviews criticizing NL simply because it is not EIM. If you just scroll back through the reviews, you'll see that people loved NL before EIM ran out of stock. NL is an AMAZING tea. It may not be EXACTLY like EIM, but is a fantastic tea in its own right.

Liken many of the flavored teas here, it has strong aroma of artificial flavors and sweeteners. It would be nice if Tea Source offered a line of more natural herbals or just stuff without the sweeteners.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I got this as a sample (why not sent black tea samples to people who only order black tea?). I drink herbals in the evenings… but the stevia and vanilla flavor are not, to my taste, nice.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

While this is a good herbal tea, it is not a replacement for Evening in Missoula. Please bring back my favorite tea!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I've enjoyed the delicious offerings from Tea Source for many years, and some tea I order by the pound; Evening in Missoula was one of them, and one of my favorite teas. It was a frequent purchase (for self or gifted to others), and a tea I recommended all the time. Northern Lights is not my preference, but a moderate quality substitute. If the wishes of longtime/repeat customers are heard...I wish Tea Source would offer Evening in Missoula again!

Generally, I don't like chamomile tea, but I don't mind this blend. This is not my first choice when it comes to teas, but nice to have in a home collection, just to have something different now and then.

I've been drinking Evening in Missoula for many years. Apparently, this is the replacement, and it is not a good replacement. The smell of the loose tea is bad - I don't know how to describe it other than to say it reminds me of sweet garbage. Luckily the odor doesn't translate to the cup; it mellows out a bit when brewed. Actually, way too much. It's significantly milder than Evening in Missoula. If you're like me, look elsewhere.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I was hoping for a stronger tasting decaf tea reflecting the mint and anise flavors but the chamomile overpowers all. Good for a light bedtime tea but not as flavorful as I like.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

The chamomile comes through strongly on this tea, with notes of mint and anise. It is a sweet cup of tea. As someone who rarely sweetens her tea, I thought it a bit too sweet for my taste. Other than that, it is a nice hot drink for late in the day when you don't want anything caffeinated.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I took a chance on this tea and while it’s not my personal favorite, I can confidently say that if you truly love a spearmint-flavored tea, you will enjoy this. I see myself using this throughout cold and flu season.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I tried Northern Lights as an alternative to our old time favorite Evening in Missoula and was not disappointed! This tea is a must have for sore throats, runny noses or just a cozy bedtime tea!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Very similar to Evening in Missoula but with a hint of warmth. A great winter herbal tea.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I'm more of a Breakfast Assam "full blast" tea tippler, but I needed an alternative for late-afternoon or evening. This is a comforting herbal whose fragrance hints of root-beer (and if that sounds off-putting, then forget I said it). Yes, you need a lot to make a brew but that's to be expected with all those natural, herbal ingredients. Sweet. Take without milk, of course.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Nice balance of flavors. The combination of flavors is very nice with the anise.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Light on flavor and good coloring. Very mellow mint flavor. Need to use a large amount for just one pot of tea. Good blend but not as intriguing a flavor as Evening in Missoula.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Bought this tea because I liked the name. So glad I did as it is a distinctive blend - different from the others of similar genre. Very flavorful and smooth tea - perfect for a winter evening!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Nice body for an herbal tea, complex flavor, no need to add sweetener. A perfect mid afternoon cuppa!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

Northern Lights has a refreshing zing to it! I enjoyed it especially when coming in from the cold to warm me up through and through!

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I'm a fan of spearmint and anise, so I find Northern Lights to be especially enjoyable. Light and subtle and pleasant.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

This tea is delightful, not too strong, but plenty of flavor. The combination of flavors is very pleasing.

Northern Lights | Herbal Tea

I gave this tea as a gift to a friend who loves it. It's a delightful cup, and would even suggest iced!
