We enjoying finding opportunities to share our passion for tea with those in our community. We often present at conferences, teach classes, serve tea at events, and participate in community gatherings. If you can't make it to our store for one of our classes, find us out and about in the Metro area (and sometimes further than that!).

AMERICAN CRAFT COUNCIL: LET'S MAKE!


It's a craft show like no other! Join us for our three-day celebration of all things handmade, where more than 225 top contemporary jewelry, clothing, furniture, and home decor artists from across the country gather under one roof. It's your chance to touch, feel, and explore high-quality American craft and meet the makers behind the fabulous work. TeaSource will be on hand to help participants choose one of the six categories of camellia sinensis, the tea plant. From there, we will guide them through the correct loose-leaf measurement, water temperature, and steep time. TeaSource will also demonstrate different steeping methods, from the ancient gong fu tea ceremony to modern gravity pots.

"What Do I Charge?" (Part of Tea Business Boot Camp) - May 4th (Tea Business Boot Camp runs all day)

Setting your retail prices is one of the most critical decisions you make. And unfortunately most people use the W.A.G. method to do this (Wild Ass Guess). In this session Bill Waddington will teach a system for determining the best individual pricing structure for your particular operation.

Come experience a tasting tour of Darjeeling. Guided by a former Darjeeling estate manager, and a long-time tea importer you'll taste and learn to discern flavor: differences, exceptionality, flaws, and quality characteristics of numerous north Indian teas. Rajiv and Bill will also explain why and how these sensory differences occur.

Indian Milk Tea Demonstration - 2-2:30 pm, May 6th

"Tea Processing: An Experiential Lab" (2-day Workshop) - 8-11am, May 7th & 8th Speakers: Donna Fellman, Online Education Manager, World Tea Academy & Bill Waddington, Founder & President, TeaSource
Roll up your sleeves! In this two-day class your basic understanding of how tea is made will be taken to an entirely new level through hands-on experience. Participate in the process of transforming several pounds of raw tea leaf material into white, green, yellow, oolong, and black teas.

Lisa Boalt Richardson Book Signing at Booth #724 - 1-2pm, May 7th
Lisa Bolt Richardson will be on hand to sign copies of her book Modern Tea, which the Tea House Times calls an "Exquisite guide to exploring tea's history, essential terms and definitions, and focuses on a deeper appreciation of tea in many ways."
