Gyokuro | Green Tea
"My absolute favorite. Sweet, umami, and full-bodied; it reminds me of cooked spinach. Every time I bring some home my wife manages to make it disappear." -Ryan N.
Description: Incredible, deep, dark, green leaves. The cup is sweet, and seaweed-y with a viscous-brothy body. These shade-grown tea leaves from Shizuoka make an amazing tea.
This tea was produced by a family owned tea company that was founded in 1869 in Shizuoka, Japan. It’s owned and run by the same family, for five generations now. We've worked with these folks for six years. Their teas, their skill, and their warmth are unmatched. Their tea factory is located near the Nissaka area of Shizuoka, not far from Mt. Fuji.
