2006 Menghai Sheng Puer Tea Cake
Description: This tea is rooted and down to earth. Strong, primordial, and raw, the cup is a landscape of sweet hay, damp wood, and herbaceous greens.

This tea was made by the family of Ms. Zhao Yu Jie in April 2006. The tea leaves are from Bu Lang Mountain in Menghai, Yunnan. Bu Lang means “people living in the mountain”. They have their own language but use Dai characters. The Bu Lang people prefer the color black for their traditional dress and pass on the mother’s name to their children instead of the father’s name. The plucking standard for this tea is 1 bud and 1-2 leaves from the Yunnan Big Leaf cultivar. The growing elevation was around 1800m. We recommend a short steep for this tea – it starts strong and ends strong.
