Sencha Saemidori | Green Tea
An excellent tea for the experienced. The aroma is thick and the cup has that deep, bitter grassiness that only the best sencha can rank as a compliment. Full-bodied, great texture, good for many steeps. A winner!
Produced in April 2021 from Makurazaki, Kagoshima, Japan. The Saemidori cultivar was recognized in 1991 and is home to this region, but popular throughout Japan. “Sae” = bright, “midori” = green – it’s a combination of the Asatsuyu and Yabukita cultivars. Makurazaki is a sea facing city off the southern coast of Kagoshima. Its mountainous terrain and mild climate make it excellent for growing high-quality tea.
