Sencha #100 | Green Tea
Description: This small batch green tea from Shizuoka makes a fresh/bright first impression. The cup is very umami (thick/brothy) with some sea/vegetal notes. Delicious. As with many high-end Japanese teas this tea is, by design, a blend of different sized tea particles, which is noticeable in the dry leaf and in the cup.
This tea was produced by a family owned tea company that was founded in 1869 in Shizuoka, Japan. It’s owned and run by the same family for five generations now. We've worked with these folks for six years. Their teas, their skill, and their warmth continue to astound me. Their tea factory is located near the Nissaka area of Shizuoka, not far from Mt. Fuji.
