TeaSource Green - TEA OF THE MOMENT

This mao jian style tea from Hunan Province in China brews up light, smooth, sweet, with a very refreshing taste. It makes a great all-day-long tea and a marvelous introduction to straight green teas.

Clouds & Mist Green, Supreme

Clouds & Mist Green, Supreme

This green tea has a dark green leaf, well-formed with a slight twist. It produces a cup that is soft and shimmering, exceedingly fresh, slightly sweet, very aromatic, and wonderfully refreshing. This is an exceptional tea.

This tea is a Yunwu (translates: clouds mist) tea from Mengding mountain in Ming Shan county of Sichuan province. A high mountain, pre-Qing-Ming tea (the most-prized early-spring teas) harvested at the end of March, yunwu teas are unique for the natural shading they receive from persistent heavy cloud cover, a reliable part of the Sichuan micro-climate.

Like the deliberate methods used by the Japanese, this shading inhibits photosynthesis and causes a chemical reaction in the plant that gives it a deep green color and its bright, fresh flavors.

Green Needle

Green Needle

Thin, spider leg-like leaves with some silver tip make this a very unique tea. The liquor is very fresh with sweet, complex, silky notes.

Giddapahar Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP1

Giddapahar Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP1

This is a classic 1st flush Darjeeling black tea. This black tea is medium-bodied, with a tiny bit of astringency, and just a hint of those slight fruity muscatel notes that Darjeeling teas are known for.

High Mountain Green

High Mountain Green

These gorgeous wiry dark green leaves produce a very unique cup: the pale liquor delivers a cup that is deep, slightly sweet, very fresh, and slightly tart flavor without the characteristic Chinese grassiness. This tea is from Sichuan in the eastern foothills of the Himalayas. During spring there is a natural heavy cloud cover, making this a "shade-grown" tea resulting in higher chlorophyll content and a deeper/greener flavor.

Keemum Mao Feng

Keemum Mao Feng

Astounding aroma from the dry leaf, this tea is made up of thin wiry hand-processed leaves that yield a liquor that is thick, rich, almost coccoa-y, with a sweet aromatic aftertaste. This is an exceptional Keemun Mao Feng.
