Organic

TeaSource is currently pursuing USDA Organic Certification. At the present time we do not hold this certification. All of the teas below are purchased from tea gardens that do hold organic certifications. We do not claim organic certification for the following teas, but we felt it was important for customers to understand their organic growing and production history.

Carrying some teas labeled "organic" does not mean our other teas are in any way unsafe. In general, hand-processed (i.e. orthodox manufacture) tea rarely have a problem with excessive chemical residues. Almost all of our teas fall into this class. Typically the teas that have the greatest problems with chemical residues from fertilizers or pesticides are the mass-produced (i.e. CTC manufacture) teas, destined for supermarket shelves. And even most of these are perfectly safe.
