Glenburn Estate, 1st Flush, FTGFOP

Glenburn Estate, 1st Flush, FTGFOP

An extremely nice first flush Darjeeling. A lovely balance between briskness and stone fruitiness with a little bit of a green/garden-like note. This is a slightly non-traditional, but nonetheless wonderful first flush.

Glenburn Estate, Autumnal Flush, FTGFOP

Glenburn Estate, Autumnal Flush, FTGFOP

This tea steeps up fuller bodied than most Darjeelings: very smooth, with hints of a soft fruity, sweetness (think musk melon). A wonderful unique Darjeeling, at the opposite end of the Darjeeling scale from first flushes.

Goomtee Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP

Goomtee Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP

This first flush Darjeeling black tea is VERY aromatic, with strong hints of muscatel and stone-fruit, a long lingering aftertaste, and a surprising amount of body and mouth feel for a 1st flush Darjeeling. This is an exceptional first flush.

Makaibari Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP

Makaibari Estate, 1st Flush, SFTGFOP

The first Darjeeling tea garden to become has produced a great first flush tea. This black tea is very aromatic, with a light sweetness, strong muscatel/fruit notes, and a very refreshing crispness. Makaibari was started in 1859 and most say it was the first tea factory outside China.

Doke Estate, Black Fusion

Doke Estate, Black Fusion

Wow !!! This black tea is incredibly aromatic. The steeped tea is thick, sweet, and lingering. Reminds us a bit of Ruby 18 oolong. The tea leaves are very fragrant, long, twisted, and wiry. The Doke Estate is a tiny family owned tea garden in Bihar (southwest of Darjeeling) that makes incredible teas entirely by hand. This is a one of a kind tea.

2005 Sheng Tuo Cha 1st Grade

2005 Sheng Tuo Cha 1st Grade

This is a simpler, more straight forward sheng puer. The cup is very clean, extremely refreshing, lighter, with a slight juniper/mint note. This tea is aging well and should mature nicely.

2005 Sheng Puer Yin Hao cake

2005 Sheng Puer Yin Hao cake

This 2005 sheng puer cake has bright, fresh, clean, almost asparagus-like notes. It's wonderful to drink now and is beginning to take on deeper notes. It should age and mature wonderfully.

Made by the Nenghai Liming Tea Factory, Xishuangbanna, China.

Milk Oolong, Traditional

Milk Oolong, Traditional

This famous Taiwan tea delivers a cup that is sweet, fresh, slightly floral, with light creamy notes. Those creamy notes are where the name "milk oolong" comes from, there are no other ingredients besides tea: made from the Jin Suang cultivar.

Amber Oolong

Amber Oolong

This is a world class Taiwanese baked oolong from the mountains of central Taiwan. They begin with very high grade Tung Ting style tea, then through a tea master's baking of the leaf they add layers of flavors. So you get a tea with the sweet honey notes of a lighter oolong, with layers of darker, richer, slightly toasty flavors. What makes this such an amazing tea is you get all these flavors in the same swallow.

Jade Beauty Oolong

Jade Beauty Oolong

A wonderfully complex Tung Ting style oolong from Nantou County, Taiwan. This tea has been visited by the "green leaf hopper" insect (like Oriental Beauty) so it has that characteristic honey note. It also has sweet, spicy, slightly toasty tastes and a long lingering aftertaste. One of the best oolongs we've tasted in a while.

Only available in 2 ounce quantities.

Nepali Silver, SFTGFOP

Nepali Silver, SFTGFOP

This exquisite oolong tea from the Pathivara Tea garden is entirely handmade. The tea leaves are long, delicate, wiry and emit a rich, fresh sweetness. The steeped liquor is golden/amber with sweet/spicy notes and a delicate hint of first flush muscatel.

Pathivara is a tiny tea garden in eastern Nepal, located at 6000 feet. Pathivara was abandoned during the years of the Maoist insurgency, but has been rehabilitated by local Nepali entrepreneurs within the last five years.
