anhui

Anhui Province is famous for its Keemun black teas, which are also known as the Burgundy of teas. They are prized for their deep, full-bodied flavor with just a hint of a sweet earthiness. Congou refers to a basic black Chinese tea.

China Black FOP

China Black FOP

4 oz. $4.97

A classic China FOP black congou tea. This tea is very similar to a Keemun tea. It is full-bodied with a sweet earthiness, and takes milk and sugar well. It also makes a very nice iced tea.

Empire Keemun

Empire Keemun

4 oz. $6.97

The tea that started the Opium Wars; also the original English Breakfast tea. This tea is deep, rich, with just a hint of brightness.

Grand Keemun

Grand Keemun

4 oz. $10.47

The owner's desert island tea! This black tea from China steeps up dark, rich luxuriant, smooth, slightly sweet, toasty, with an almost cocoa-like note. It is a completely satisfying experience. Keemuns are often compared to Burgundy wines; Grand Keemun would be comparable to a really good Burgundy wine.

Keemun Hao Ya A

Keemun Hao Ya A

4 oz. $28.87

This highest grade of Keemun tea is full bodied, rich & complex. Very smooth, earthy but sweet and slightly floral. If black rose was a flavor, this is what it would taste like. An absolutely wonderful tea.

Keemun Mao Feng

Keemun Mao Feng

4 oz. $12.97

This classic higher grade Keemun black tea has long wiry leaves with a sweet winey aroma. It steeps up medium-bodied (lighter than most Keemuns), with a delightful slightly sweet, slightly spicy and very smooth profile with unusual floral notes. Wonderful and unique.

Keemun Fragrant Spiral

Keemun Fragrant Spiral

4 oz. $24.97

The perfect name for this perfect tea. The obsidian black tea leaves are gentle hand-twisted swirls and curls that produce a cup that is sweet, thickly aromatic, and that leaves you with a languorous lingering afterglow. We could have called this Extreme Keemun. This hard-to-find black tea is made from a tea cultivar developed at the Anhui Agricultural Sciences Institute in the 1990's.
